We live in Arenac and Iosco counties. We hire local. We source local. Our pickup trucks park in the same lot as yours. When a Standish family wins Friday-night lights, we watched it.

Local, Craft, Legacy.
Two college roommates, one Michigan greenhouse, eighteen years of standing behind every jar on our shelf.
It started in a Michigan greenhouse in 2008.
The two of us were college roommates who kept finding ourselves back in Northern Michigan. Not for a weekend. For good. We grew up here, worked summers here, and when Michigan opened its cannabis market, we knew where we wanted to plant the flag: right at the I-75 exit that every up-north weekend drives through.
We opened the first store on M-61 just off Exit 188, next to the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino. We built the greenhouse behind it. We named the grow Green Mitten Pharms because Michigan looks like a mitten and we are not trying to be anyone else's brand.
Eighteen years later, we still run both stores ourselves. You can find us behind the counter on any given Saturday. If you ask the budtender a question we cannot answer, we will get on the phone with our grower and find out. Most days, that is us.

Craft.
Small-batch flower, hand-trimmed, hand-cured. We do not chase yield, we chase a jar you want to come back for. If a batch does not meet our standard, it does not reach the counter.

Legacy.
Family-owned since 2008. Still family-owned. We are building this for our kids to inherit, not for a venture firm to flip. That changes every decision we make.
Green Mitten Pharms
Grown by us.
Green Mitten Pharms is our cultivation brand. It is not a partner and it is not a placeholder. When a product on our shelf has the Green Mitten badge, it came from our Michigan greenhouse, grown by a team we know by name.
We grow flower the way a small vineyard makes wine. Small plots. Slow cures. Strain selection based on what we want to sell our own neighbors, not what spreadsheets say will move fastest.
If that sounds old-fashioned, that is because it is.
Community
We live here. We work here. We invest here.
We are one of the largest private-sector employers in Arenac County. We sponsor the Standish-Sterling varsity teams. We buy our office supplies from the stationers on Grove Street. We eat lunch at the diner that has been there since before the casino. We shovel the elderly neighbor's driveway in January because that is how you live in a small town in Northern Michigan.
You do not get 18 years of a community's trust by accident. You get it by showing up.

When did Highway Dispos open?
Green Mitten Pharms, our cultivation brand, was founded in 2008. We later opened two retail stores under Michigan's adult-use cannabis program: HW-61 on M-61 in Standish, and HW-23 on US-23 in Au Gres. In 2026 we unified both stores under the Highway Dispos brand.
Where are you located?
Two stores in Northern Michigan on the Sunrise Coast. Highway Dispos Standish is on M-61 at I-75 Exit 188, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino. Highway Dispos Au Gres is on US-23 along the Lake Huron coast.
